Blue Rivers Area Agency on Aging (BRAAA) administers (directly
or contractually) 18 Senior Centers in
Southeast Nebraska
. BRAAA also has affiliate relationships with an additional 2 Senior Centers within
this area. Each noon meal is prepared to meet 1/3 of the daily recommended dietary
needs of older adults. A suggested contribution is solicited to help defray the
cost of the meal.
To arrange for Nutrition Services, please call the
Senior Center
manager at the desired location. On-day advance notification is appreciated. All
locations are open five days a week.
Congregate Meals:
- Senior Centers provide a noon congregate meal and offers a
place to meet and socialize with friends and participate in other activities.
Home Delivered Meals:
- Arrangements can be made to deliver a meal to those frail
elderly who cannot attend a congregate site. The service is intended for individuals
with limited physical capacities, which restrict them from attending. Alternatives
may exist for individual locations where there are not home delivered meal programs.
